Applicants are pre-screened to determine if they meet qualifications.

Professional staff is available to assist if a problem develops.
If the consumer cannot produce to company standards, Career Connection of Broward will remove them and put them into a new position.

Consumer Services


Services are directed from two sources . . .

the counselor and the consumer's Individual Plan for Employment. In an initial visit, the consumer will confirm that the IPE reflects his/her job goal and that it has prepared him/her to be successful in the vocational goal chosen.

If the consumer wants to continue with Career Connection of Broward, Inc. a criminal background check may be ordered to determine the impact of a less than perfect background on employment options.

Behavior Assessment and/or training may also be warranted. Behavior Assessment will help determine what work skills the consumer can use to entice employers. (A Vocational Evaluation will have already determined much of the information needed.) If not available, the client will have a short time with a company so that behaviors can be observed (not more than two weeks-part time.)

Career Connection of Broward, Inc.will provide resume writing services where appropriate. Interview skills will be practiced with guidance on how to improve provided by the employment specialist.

Consumer will need to supply ID, Social Security number, Schools/Training Facilities (dates, addresses, and certificates, diplomas, or degrees) and a job history including details of the last three jobs held (where, dates, job duties, etc.)

Our professional staff will do extensive job searches to locate companies that are potential employers for each client. It is the client's responsibility to also assist in locating employment by networking with family friends, relatives, church members, neighbors and other resources in their normal daily travels. The more time spent by the consumer, the more likely we are to succeed.

The consumer will evaluate all job leads with the employment specialist and both will work together to prepare the application, set up the interview, and review for any tests that may be required.

Licenses/certificates/transcripts must be readily available to fulfill the application process.

Remember, Consumer, you are not in this alone. It is a team with you as the leader. Your counselor and employment specialist are there to help you.


Counselor Services


Assess clients and communicate to counselor within 30 days whether the client is accepted for placement.
Regular email reports on progress (or lack of progress).
Provide monthly reports before the 10th of each month.
Counselor will have a part in all decisions made by client and employment specialist.
Place clients consistent with IPE or assist counselor in getting proper paperwork completed.
Report on following along services to be sure the counselor will get a closure.
